3. Julie, I do not have any more on Lucy's parents, but an uncle of my husband has been working on the family for years and I am going to check with him. I do have a photo with Lucy King and one that has Lucy and sister with a question mark on the back. I would like to get copies of the gravestones if possible. Can I send you the money for them? I grew up in Corry and spent a lot of time in the Clymer area, never realizing someday I would wish I had listened to my grandmother's stories. If I get anything more on Lucy's parents I will let you know. Gail

    3. Hi Gail, My great-great-grandmother Eliza King KEECH is the daughter of Robert T. KING of Wayne Township, Erie, PA and has a sister named Lucy King. I have previously posted a transcript of Robert T. King's will which mentions his children's names. Unfortunately I really don't have much on Lucy besides what you already have. Do you have any more information on Robert T. King and/or his wife Annis UNKNOWN. If you would like to see photos of Robert and Annis King's gravestones, you can view them at my Yahoo photo page at this link: http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/juliewzoo/lst?.dir=/Keech+Genealogy&.src=ph&.orde r=&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ I'd love to compare King notes with you. 3. Can anyone tell me if there are any records from the Waterford Cemetery except what the Cemetery Keeper currently has? My Great grandfather's probate states his estate paid $32 for 1/2 lot in Waterford Cemetery. They also paid H L Merritt $8 for burial expenses. However, he is not listed in any of the current records. I suspect he has no stone. How can I locate his Lot # in the cemetery? Thanks, Nola L. Thompson nltt@ktc.com

    3. Stacey, In some situations and some states, if a person has disappeared and not been heard from, or found, for a period of time--often it is 7 years, they can be declared legally dead. This could be for insurance, spouse wants to remarry, or some such reason. This happened in my family in the mid 1920's. Doris

    2. Stacey, These are a few ideas: There is a wonderful, old, little paper in Albion, PA, The Albion News, that has been in business since the early 1900's. Albion is about 10 miles south of Girard. I know that the Albion Library has copies of all the old ones. The Albion Library has a wealth of information. The lady you need to address your information to is Lucy Fuller, she is the historian and local resident all of her life. It may take her time to research. The Albion Library has records that the Erie County Library doesn't have. Albion Library, East Pearl Street, Albion, PA 16401. http://www.erie.net/~albion -----Library Address Girard may also have/had a local newspaper. Most of the towns do. Maybe a Girard person on this list would be able to tell you the name if there is one. Also the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad runs through that area to Pittsburgh and Ohio. My grandfather worked on it in the time period you mention. Have you checked Ashtabula County, Ohio. Ohio is only about 10 miles west of Girard. Many people from the area went to Ohio. Good luck in your search. Keep us informed. Mary Silfies Mills

    2. I have a very tough case to crack on the disappearance of my great-grandfather. I need a small miracle here. Does anyone know of any railroad pension records available for any railroad in Erie Co from abt. 1920 -1950? The Railroad Retirement Board can't help me because I don't have enough info on my great-grandfather, Daniel Caughlin. He disappeared some time after 1923 (last time family saw him), but his wife--Lena's obit in 1950 indicated that he had already died so someone knew about it. The county, library, and state can't locate death info for him though. He's not in the SSDI either. Daniel's wife--Lena was still living in Girard on the 1930 census and still married, but Daniel wasn't with her and I can't locate him on the 1930 census. He was a section-hand b/w 1910 & 1920, living in Harborcreek, Northeast, and Girard. I need a new angle to find out when/where/how he died. Anyone know anything about Daniel Caughlin or perhaps know of a railroad being built in Erie Co b/w 1923 & 1930 that may have led Daniel to another county or state? 3. Hello to the List members, I have recently posted three cemetery listings to the Erie County Genealogy website at http://www.rootsweb.com/~paerie . New readings done in May 2003 by Pat Walters of the Mount of Olives Cemetery and the St. Boniface Cemetery have been posted, along with a listing put together by Dick Tefft of the Northville aka State Line Cemetery in North East Twp. The theme for the month of June and probably also for July will be Cemeteries, so I invite everyone to dig through their archives and share your cemetery related information. Contributions for posting on the website are always welcome. Bill Klauk Volunteer County Coordinator, Erie Co (PA) Genealogy, USGenWeb/PAGenWeb project
