Okay..everyone..for some reason I am not getting all of my email from this list...and I think it is a Rootsweb-AOL thing. Some is coming through, but not all...I posted a request earlier and it has still not showed up in my mail box....and it concerned a James LAUGHLIN in the 1840 Erie County Census, Girard Twp., page 115...If anyone responded to me I didn't get it so please send it to me personally.... Also, I also subscribe to Ancestry.com if anyone needs a look up... Also have some Western PA records, books, etc. Thanks Vivian
A lot of the Rootsweb lists have been having trouble with AOL, who is trying to solve the problem. Meanwhile, you can check the January 2004 archives of the list to see what's getting posted. Go to archiver.rootsweb.com and enter this list name (PAERIE). --- VivHy@aol.com wrote: > Okay..everyone..for some reason I am not > getting all of my email from this > list...and I think it is a Rootsweb-AOL thing. > Some is coming through, but not > all...I posted a request earlier and it has > still not showed up in my mail > box....and it concerned a James LAUGHLIN in the > 1840 Erie County Census, Girard > Twp., page 115...If anyone responded to me I > didn't get it so please send it to > me personally.... __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Wayne, The spelling Peter Van Sickle brings up only Owego, Tioga, NY in the 1800 census. Could this be the one you are looking for? Hi listers: It has been a while since I have been able to post to the list. I have found several persons who died in the area of Erie if not directly in the city. These are fairly recent deaths within the last 20 or so years. Is there some kind soul who would be traveling to the library who could look up some for me? I have death dates from SSDI. Hi, If there is someone who can look for a couple of obituaries from the Erie paper for me, I would appreciate the help. I have the full name and dates. Thank you! Barb
Hello List, As I periodically do, I have a need for some transcribing volunteers. I do have a list of a number of you who have volunteered in the past, but that project never materialized and people's priorities change, so I will ask again. One of our site visitors and past contributor, Rick Landers, has provided quite a number of scanned images of text pages from a church history book (St Paul's Catholic Church). I have uploaded these images to an unlinked directory on our Erie Co (PA) Genealogy website. There are 40 images ranging from 251K to 1.3 meg in size, basically a picture of a page of text. I am in need of these pages being retyped into text documents, preferably Microsoft Word (.doc) or Web page (html) format, or even plain text in an email. Anyone wishing to help, please contact me privately at ErieCoGenie@att.net and I will provide the file names of one or more pages to transcribe. When I post the final web pages, you will be given credit for your work. Bill Klauk Volunteer County Coordinator Erie Co (PA) Genealogy http://www.rootsweb.com/~paerie

Hello to everyone, The people on this line and the Crawford line have been very helpful. I truly appreciate it. Would someone please tell me if Lillian COLE and Harry HUNT were married in Erie around 1908 what information might be on the marriage license? Also Edna HUNT was born in Erie in 1910 would her mother’s maiden name be on the birth registration? I’m seeking Lillian’s maiden name. I believe it to be COLE because someone LDS did some research on Lillian’s first husband Burton HANEY and two of their sons. Also are there Erie City Directories or phone books from about 1905 through 1920? I’m trying to locate when the HUNT family live and leave Erie and perhaps I could do that through City Pages. Thanks for any answers or further Erie research suggestions. Take care, Cindy --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Hi, **This message is being sent to the PAERIE mailing list.** The email address that RootsWeb has for the PAERIE list admin erie@bassoonman.com is bouncing, so RootsWeb is looking to make contact with the list admin. Will the list admin please contact Andrew Billinghurst (billingh@rootsweb.com) so that we know that you are still maintaining this list and please reply quoting this message. List members there is nothing for you to worry about and nothing for you to do, it is probably just an email problem for the person looking after the day-to-day management of this list. Rest assured that this does not mean that your list is in danger. Thanks! Hello Listers, Happy New Year 2004. Thought I would take this opportunity to let everyone know that our January theme on the website will be "Church and Church Related". Last year at this time I was trying to get my computer set up and nothing at all was done during January. So we will certainly be able to add more pages this month than a year ago. I am still looking for people who would like to be township coordinators. Several long time coordinators have other priorities and would like to be replaced, and several townships never were 'adopted'. I am also going to put Millcreek Township up for additional help as I need to concentrate on the entire county. At this time, Union, Wayne, Millcreek and Lawrence Park are available, but several others might be available in the near future. Anyone with contributions, or anyone with interest in being a coordinator, please contact me.
