    1. [PAERIE] Union City Historical Society
    2. Linda Emerson
    3. Is there anyone on the list who has any connections at the Union City Historical Society? I ordered a book on the Evergreen Cemetery about a month ago but have not had any response from the group. Whenever I've called the number, I only get a fax machine rather than a live person. Any ideas on how to handle this? Thanks... Linda -- Linda Emerson Coordinator - Union Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania http://www.rootsweb.com/~paerie/townships/Union.htm

    1. [PAERIE] 1870 Mortality Tables
    2. William Klauk
    3. Just to let everyone on the list know, between Linda Emerson, Barb Seyler, and myself, corrected copies of the Union Township and Union Borough 1870 Mortality Tables have been posted. 83 year old Amanda Brown, who died of pregnancy complications, became 33 year old Amanda Brower - Linda and Barb tell me that the old handwriting is terrible, so I can understand all the problems in transcribing any of this census information. Other than a few minor housekeeping matters, have not any big changes to the site since the last announced update (spending time on my personal family history) but stay tuned for more. 3. You're doing such a great job with all of this, Bill. I know we all appreciate the work you're doing and your expedient response time! 1. [PAERIE] Corry - need good links to post
    2. William Klauk
    3. I put up a page on our site for the City of Corry, but so much other work has been done on Corry, as indicated, I mostly want to have links here. If someone on this list is in the mood to surf around and find all the 'good' links to the City of Corry, and to summarize them back to me (or back to the list so others can see it has been done), along with a little one line description about each site, then it will facilitate getting the links up faster. Thank you. Bill Klauk Co-Coordinator, Erie County (PA) Genealogy, USGenWeb/PAGenWeb Project Millcreek Township, Erie County, PA

    3. Christy, The GenConnect boards really do not lend themselves to Early Marraiges. I think the best thing to do is as you type them up in your favorite word processor, send them as an email attachment to me and I can build a web page for them. Or, just do them as e-mail messages to me. If you want, e-mail me directly to discuss what you feel is best for you. I can accept material in a number of different formats - about the only thing I have not been able to handle is AOL format. 1. [PAERIE] Web Site Updates for Tuesday, Jan 23, 2001
    2. William Klauk
    3. The following changes were made to http://www.rootsweb.com/~paerie for Tuesday, January 23, 2001 (actually up till 5 PM on Wednesday). January 23, 2001 Added 1850 and 1860 partial census transcription for Washington Township. This data is reposted with permission of Linda Dill, who transcribed the data as a part of a personal family history search. Updated Fairview Township page and added introduction from the new coordinator, Rich Biondi. 1. [PAERIE] U.S. Census Spreadsheet
    2. Linda Emerson
    3. A member of the Wisconsin list has created a spreadsheet which he uses to record census data accumulated on paper over the years. He sent me a copy of the text file as well as the spreadsheet and I am extremely impressed with it. The spreadsheet has a separate page for each census year from 1790-1920, as well as Soundex pages for 1880-1920... great for tracking a single family through the years. In the 5 days since he offered it, he has mailed out over 600 copies (free) and has now created a website for downloading the file. I think you will be very impressed with the work he's done. The researcher's name is Gary Minder and the web site is: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~minder/ I am willing to send the files to anyone who requests them from me directly. -- Linda Emerson Coordinator - Union Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania http://www.rootsweb.com/~paerie/townships/Union.htm

    1. [PAERIE] Web Site Updates - Monday Evening
    2. William Klauk
    3. Following changes were made to http://www.rootsweb.com/~paerie for Monday January 22, 2001: Added 1870 Mortality Schedule pages for Union Township and Union Borough from information contributed by Linda Emerson and linked those pages to Union Township and to the Census page. [Although entire county was previously posted, these small township listings can pinpoint where a person might have lived who died in the 12 months prior to a census.] Added 1835 Revolutionary War Pensioners Roll as researched and submitted by Barb Seyler. Linked to Military page. I noted a lot of names on this list who are not on the 1840 Census extract. 2. Glen Johnson
    3. According to an 1893 city directory for Erie PA that I saw on Ancestry.com, there was an Amanda ANDERSON living at 562 W. 8th Street, Erie PA in 1893. The Amanda I am looking for is from Sweden, born 1872; her age was approximately 21 in 1893. Does anyone know of a way I could get more info about her?? Thanks very much. Glen Johnson

Added a new Zing album to Current Photos and linked from Cemetery page for Phillipsville Union Cemetery with pictures contributed by Bettie Noel. Complete update to Census page done, listing all Federal Census 1790-1920 along with NARA Microfilm roll numbers. Added a new page for a complete (about 600 names) county wide extract of the 1870 Mortality Schedule from the 1870 census, and linked this page on the Census page. A special thanks goes to Barb Seyler for this contribution. Added Rich Biondi as new township coordinator for Fairview Township. 2. The social security application should have vital info on it. The application of one of my collateral ancestors (he applied in 1937 at the age of 69) shows his full name, street address, occupation, employer, date and place of birth, father's name, mother's maiden name, sex, color (white, Negro, other).
