In tandem with the Ridgway Independence Festival, the Elk County Historical Society will be holding a Genealogy Fair this Saturday from noon until 6 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity to acquaint yourself with what the ECHS has to offer as regards genealogy. I will be there on Saturday, and Helen Hughes, our staff genealogist will also be there. We will be available to answer any questions you may have about your Elk County families or genealogy in general. I haven't talked to her yet, but I hope to have Marie Biel, our obituary expert, on hand as well.
