I would like to thank and commend all of you on this list for remaining sane and calm during last week's insanity and not sending every chain foreward that was sent to you to the list. The Elk list was just about the only list that I was on that didn't descend into chaos and petty bickering following last week's tragedy. One of the lists I was on had an absolute meltdown, with some of the listers really insulting some of the other listers. It was very sad. Since Rootsweb archives all of these messages, they must be dealing with TONS of posts that are not history/genealogy related and are only going to eat up bandwidth on the Rootsweb servers. In fact, they stopped archiving messages last Tuesday, so I wonder if they are going to try to sort through what is pertinent and what is not? I don't know if all of you know this, but Rootsweb has set up a board for messages of condolence and reflection at http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=an&p=usa-tragedy.mourning So thank you all again for staying focused during this difficult time and allowing this list to remain an Elk County Genealogy and History list.
