    3. Obituaries: Eugene D. "Gus' Grosser, 81, of 540 Rock Street, St. Marys, died early Friday morning at Hamot Medical Center in Erie after an illness of the past several months. He was born August 13, 1920 in St. Marys, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Grosser. On June 14, 1948 in St. Marks Church, Emporium, he married Anne M. Joyce, who preceded him in death this past Sunday, January 6. Mr. Grosser was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Public High School, class of 1941. He, along with his wife, Anne, was the owner of the former Kiddies Specialty Shop in St. Marys for 33 years. After his retirement, he worked for many years at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home. For many years, he was known as "Gus the Clown," having been a much loved presence to young and old alike at county fairs, Hometown Festivals, church bazaars, Sportsmen's picnics and other area celebrations. He was a member of Queen of the World Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII. He is survived by a daughter, Jessie M. Grosser of Erie; two sons, Kenneth A. Grosser of Rockville, MD, Tim J. Grosser of Silver Springs, MD; and a grandson, Seth Grosser. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and James Grosser; and a sister Virginia. He was the last member of his immediate family. A Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene D. "Gus" Grosser, along with his wife, Anne, will be celebrated in Queen of the World Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Leon Hont, OSB, officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery. Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home tonight from 7-9 p.m. Ann Marie Morey, 69, of 759 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, died Thursday morning, January 10, 2002 at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born December 11, 1932 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Roman and Lucille Herbstritt Detsch. On November 22, 1986, she married Kenneth K. Morey, who died July 9, 1998. Mrs. Morey was a resident of St. Marys for the past three years, and formerly resided in Wilcox. She attended St. Marys schools and was a member of Wilcox Presbyterian Church. She was employed at the Grant House Restaurant for several years and Carnival Concessionaire for 10 years. She is survived by a brother, Gary Detsch of St. Marys; five sisters, Frances Osgood of Ridgway, Marlene Miller of Wilcox, Dorothy (Mrs. Richard) Bean of Salt Lake City, UT, Jane Fannin of Johnsonburg, Sharon (Mrs. Otto) Miller of St. Marys; five nieces; and five nephews. There will be no visitation. Family and friends of Ann M. Morey are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be conducted at Wilcox Presbyterian Church, Wilcox Saturday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Amy Jelensperger, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Anthony Ferragine Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel in the Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville, PA. Births: Son to Dawn and Alvan Sallack of Johnsonburg on Thursday, January 10, 2002. Jude, Susan and Bryce Fledderman of 530 Clinton Court, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420 announce the arrival of Brooke Patricia at 1:26 a.m. on January 8. Jude is a former St. Marys resident and the son of the late Fred and Dorothy Fledderman of Chestnut Street. Weddings/Engagements: Joyce and Tony Sorg are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Louise, to Travis Thompson Uhl. Amanda is a 1997 graduate of St. Marys Area High School and is currently enrolled at Fairmont State College. She plans to graduate in December of 2002 with a degree in secondary education. Travis is the son of Bill and Patty Uhl of Kersey. He is a 1992 graduate of St. Marys Area High School, and also attends Fairmont State College where he is enrolled in elementary education planning to graduate in 2003. A June 2003 wedding is planned.
