Ginny, Yes, they are understaffed but if your willing to wait I'm sure they can fill in more blanks for you. I'm also pretty sure they could find information in the 1895 range if that was the last known date you have. They have computerized quite a bit in the last couple of years so might already have some of the information on hand that you are looking for. Try writing another letter or giving them a call. They do charge for the look up service. It should be noted that back that far the obituary did not contain the information that one does today.
