Hello, >From all indications, Solomon RICKARD appeared on the face of the earth 25 Aug 1835, in Lehigh Co., PA, where he married Elizabeth SEIGEL Solomon was born circa 1803 somewhere in Pennsylvania. I would love to be able to prove anything about this man! Timeline: b. ca 1803 in PA m. Elizabeth Seigel, 25 Aug 1835 in Lehigh Co, PA 1840 census in Crawford Co, PA 1843 - child born in Clarion Co, PA 1850 census - not found, still looking 1851 - child born in Reading, Berks Co., PA 1853 - child born in OH 1860 census in Mahoning Co, OH 1862 - died, probably in Mahoning Co, OH burial???? 1867 - wife still in Alliance, Stark Co, OH 1867-1900 - cannot locate wife 1874 - the 1851 child marries in Lenawee Co, MI (no sign of anyone else) 1880 - a son is in Wayne Co, OH, mother not there 1900 - wife died in Hudson, Lenawee Co, MI. She had been living with the son who was in Wayne Co in 1880. Does anyone have a Solomon who has disappeared?? A son who died in the Civil War was described as: "6ft, 1in, black hair, hazel eyes". Later generations had blue eyes. Tall, thin and dark hair stayed though. I know there are a zillion spellings of this name.
