Estate Papers: HENRY HERSHEY (1785-1863) and wife NANCY (1787-1855) had "8" children. Henry is listed as having "lots" in Mummasburg. The newspaper cards show a total of 154 acres. Both are buried at the Mummasburg Cem., Adams Co. Pa. I don't think Henry's wife Nancy died in 1855. She is alive as of July 25, 1863, when she renounced being the administrator for "her husband's"--Henry's estate and also alive as of November listed as a widow in the real estate papers. Nancy signed the administrators paper with an "X". Children listed in Adams County Courthouse papers: 1 JOHN HERSHEY born about May 5, 1811, died Nov 1849--38 years 6 months 16 days had Henry, Abraham, Samuel, Susannah--wed ISRAEL BRINKER., 2 JACOB HERSHEY --possibly wed a Susannah 3 JOSEPH HARTZELL 4 ELIZABETH HERSHEY wed GEORGE FORRY/FORNEY 5 CATHERINE HERSHEY wed GEORGE LADY--Administrator to a lot of Henry Hershey papers 6 MAGDALENE HERSHEY wed JAMES MICKLEY 7 HENRY HERSHEY JR. born August 5, 1822 died Feb 23, 1850-wed NANCY THRONE had 1 son Cornelius 8 ANNIE wed BENJAMIN DEARDORFF-- had John, Samuel, Elizabeth wed GEORGE LADY (son of JACOB LADY), and Magdalene. My Anna Hershey, daughter of Henry and Nancy Hershey, b: February 05, 1818, d: June 16, 1850 in Adams Co, Pa, Buried: Mummasburg Mennonite Cem, Adams, Pa. Died of consumption, buried with her youngest child, Catherine. Married to Benjamin Deardorff, b: June 06, 1816 in Mummasburg, Franklin Twp, Adams, Pa, they were married: March 12, 1840 in By Rev. Samuel Gutelius, Franklin Twp, Adams, Pa, he died: March 23, 1905 in Butler Twp, Adams, Pa, Buried:.,Mummasburg Mennonite Cem., Adams, Pa, Father: Anthony Deardorff, Mother: Elizabeth Slosser/Schlusser. Husband Benjamin Deardorff, losing his wife and 3 month old daughter, (on same stone) buried his wife in the Mummasburg cemetery with her parents. (Not at Arendtsville, where his parents were buried.) Annas Parents: Nancy, wife of Henry Hershey, died May 1855, aged 67 years, 8 months and 30 days. (would have been born about 1787) - Buried Mummasburg Cem., Adams Co. Pa. Henry Hershey died 24 June 1863 aged 78 and 24 days. (born about 1785) - Buried Mummasburg Cem., Adams Co. Pa. XXXXXXXXXXXXX No obit's for Henry Hershey's wife --Nancy Have an inventory and vendue list (public sale) for Henry's property and goods. Have signatures of children of Henry and Nancy, along with their spouses and even some grandchildren's on the estate papers of Henry's. Also found listings of a lot of Hershey's buried in the Mummasburg Cemetery. Looks like maybe some children of Henry's. On the newspaper cards, there are some listings for deed concerning Henry Hershey. Henry Hershey wed Anna Deardorff March 19, 1857. Is Anna Deardorff and Benjamin Deardroff related ? end~
