Carol, Penman: I have seen Carol's file at Gen Connect and Penmanjc's posting to the Young list in July 1999 about Berks County Jung's/ Young's. Penmanjc didn't sign your posting, so I don't know your name. I'm trying to figure out who was the family of Adam Jung of Exeter who married Catharine Hoch in 1792. Though seemingly noone who has mentioned this man anywhere knows who were his parents, the will of Adam Jung of Exeter in 1793 suggests that Adam was his son, and says his wife was named Maria. Also mentions Maria wife of John Snyder, that was Anna Maria Jung woh married John Schneider, Rebecca wife of Nicholas Shell, Christina wife of John Folweiler, and wife of Christopher Kissling. Adam Sr says in his will he was a good friend of George Ritter, who also lived in Exeter. My Henry Wagner m Elizabeth and JOhannes Wagner m Susanna prob Liesz, lived in Reading, Alsace or Exeter, seem to have been immediate kin to Adam Jung and Frantz Ritter the son of George, and since it also appears Henry's daughter's husband Philip Burkhart was good friends with the Keim family, and with other families they would have linked to via the Keim and Schneider families, I gather that all of these families were closely tied together. I have to solve the links to learn who were Henry WAgner and wife Elizabeth. This requires learning who was Adam Jung and who he married. I also want to know who was Eva Appolonia Jung/ Young who married Peter Schneider, and had Barbara, who married Frantz Ritter. Allegedly, she was born on 26 Dec 1721 in Oley to unknown parents. I'm not sure it is known that she was born in Oley. I don't know how her exact date of birth is known and her parents aren't. Have either of you made any progress putting this family together, and do eithe rof you know who was Adam Jung and who were his parents Adam Jung and Maria? I learned that there was more than one Jung/ YOung family in Exeter. There was a family with a longer name, Jungin or something longer yet, that took the name Young pretty early. Church records make it clear that either there was more than one family in Exeter, or the one family that was there had been there for generations. Church records usually spell the name Jung. Wills often spell it Young, and Adam Sr's will spells it Young. I have alot of scraps of information on my web site at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Acres/5127/fathersfam/burkharts.html and http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Acres/5127/fathersfam/wagnerclues.html. I think I have a third file of pieces of info from church records, should be accessible from my burkharts pages. I took down Jung information mostly if it pertained to possible links to my Wagner's. I added Penman's information to my own scraps. Yours, Dora Smith __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get Yahoo!
