I found 1734 and 1754 tax lists at rootsweb for Philadelphia County and relevant parts of it. The 1734 tax list has George and Francis RUTTER in Oley. The 1754 tax list has Ferdinand, Francis, and George RUTTER again in Exeter township. My guess would be Exeter was made out of part of Oley. Anyhow, this would seem to imply that Ferdinand Ritter was related to George Ritter father of Frantz or Francis Ritter and to an earlier Francis Ritter who was George's and Ferdinand's contemporary. Someone at FTM thinks so too; at FTM's web site I learned that FTM CD 129, Church Records of Adams, Berks and Lancaster Counties, has records on Frantz Ritter, 1729-1881, Ferdinand Ritter, 1729-1881, and George Ritter, 1729-1881. Those can't be the dates they are supposed to have lived, could be the records of an an individual church. Sure has the names closely associated! Looks like it might list records concerning their children; varying numbers of records for each from several to a dozen. Anyone have that CD I'd appreicate a lookup; I don't think Austin's state library has that one. Either that or it isn't clearly labelled Pennsylvania church records! I previously had Ferdinand settling in Whatsit County that isn't Berks, nearby, relative HEnry married to Barbara who cited granddaughter Elizabeth Wagner in her will, and George with son Frantz who married Barbara Schneider daughter of PEter (of Oley and Exeter) in Exeter, Berks County, Pennsylvania; with lots of evidence Frantz Ritter and wife and all of their kin were related to my Henry and Elizabeth Wagner. Noone has so far been able to tell me what families either Ferdinand or George belonged to. This data suggests they belonged to the same family. I"d appreciate any knowledge anyone has about it.
