The store is located in Purcellville near the Quaker Cemetery their in Loudon Co., VA. The record dated 1775 talks about John Whitacre starting his account their in 1775 and his wife Naomi and been in Loudon Co for 14 years having come from Pennsylvania via New Jersey in 1761. They brought their family. They bought leather at the store to cut out shoes for their family also Molasses a knife a comb a buckle and he called him Dr John Whitacre. In Folio 82 # 3 Dr Caleb Whitacre sold him Rackoon skins sugar molasses dishes shot gun shells. Caleb is son of John. Caleb worked for the store he made a trip to Philadelphia and wd the portage to cross the river "Ferriage" 27/4. He brought back Wool Hats was paid by Aquila Janney.
