Hey all you buddies, just had an interesting call from my brother-in-law from NC. He found one of his lines comes back to good ole PA~~Philadelphia and possibly Berks Co. Interesting! but then most seem to come back to PA! Anyway, he is hoping I can help him out with finding info on his family. I haven't checked anything yet, having just got off the phone with him. But here is the info I got from him before he had to go. Johann Michael SEYDEL md (oh he didn't tell me her first name) WISE. They came to Philadelphia on ship HOPE on Oct. 1, 1773. They had 4 children born in PA one of which is his ancestor, Michael W. SEYDEL. Michael was bn 1796 and died in 1854. Not sure where he died. Michael married Elizabeth BUCK. Others on the same ship with Johann Michael SEYDEL was John George SEIDEL. Another spellings were SEITLE as well. He said his family line started in Germany to Philadelphia, PA not sure where they went next. But he said they even were in York Co. PA before ending up down in NC. Most of this info he got from a book he is reading written by a SEYDEL. He asked me if I'm familiar with that surname and I said of course. It is popular down in the Oley Valley area as well as Alsace Twp. area. Has anyone been researching this family? Does this sound familiar to anyone? Does anyone have any other info on these people or this ship? If you have ideas let me know. I'll pass it onto my brother-in-law. He's hoping to verify things. The book was written in 1958. I'm going to see what I can do to find info for him. Thanks for all your help! crystal http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/palship_list.shtml<http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/palship_list.shtml> shows the ship HOPE coming into port on this date but looks like there is a cost. Kristine' does your subscription cover this? Can anyone else look up the passenger list? I'm going to check Rootsweb and World Connect. Thanks all! crystal
