They are very conservative, live in the old ways and some folks might consider it to be oppressive. I'm not aware that they would track her down or anything, but she might have had a dispute with someone in authority or a really strict parent and thought that could happen. Having been the child of a parent who was adopted and didn't know her real origins for some time I know that anything is possible. Good Luck.
