My ancestor died in Lancaster Co., Pa. in 1784, intestate. He did not own land. The probate bond signature is probably not a family member. I was told that the Lancaster Co. Historical Society had the probate records. Twenty years ago when I first started genealogy, I wrote to them and was sent the sale account. It looked like there wasn't much left after debts were subtracted but it wasn't "0" or "-". The balance may have gone for court costs, but I don't know. There were no names of his wife or the children anywhere in what I got of this record. Do you think this was everything in the file? Should I try again? I still have no children's names to make the connection and I know this couple had children and she died in 1824. There is a marriage record but no baptisms. Marge Green
