Dear Barb (and List), Sorry no sign of Ottilia BAYER in what I have. As I said in my earlier post, I strongly recommend you get a copy of: Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage Vol 21, Number 3 July 1998 and look at the article by Jane Evans BEST starting on Page 11. if you have a BAER (or variant) connection in PA. The article has a very interesting outline of the BAR family back in Hausen parish about nine miles south west of Zurich. I hate to admit how many hours over several years it took me to confirm that my Mary BAER b 23 Jan 1772 (and identified as Mary BEAR - BA1231.113 on page 14) is of this family. Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage is the Quarterly of the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society. 717-393-9745 Happy BEAR hunting. (sorry, couldn't resist!) Good luck with your search. Regards, Glen BRUNSKILL, Burlington, Ontario Message text written by INTERNET:Bdanderson@aol.com > Glen: This is very interesting to me as my ancestors are Paulus Wegerlin and his wife, Ottilia Bayer who landed in Phila. Sept. 18, 1732 with children; Jacob, Anna Clara, Catharina and Ottilia. They lived in E. Cocalico Twp. until their deaths where additional children; Adam b. 1744 (my ancestor); John, Phillip and Barbara were born. I always wonder how immigrants decided where to settle and the information on the Baer family may be a clue, even though Ottilia's name was spelled Bayer. Do you, or anyone on the list, have information on Ottilia Bayer and Paulus Wegerlin? Thanks, Barbara Wegley Anderson <
