In doing deed research for my house, I also ran into the Intestate problem. At that time, about 10 years ago, there was a lovely lady who worked in the courthouse archives, where those records were kept. The archives were located in the old courthouse (the two courthouses are joined together), in the basement. However, there was a time when there was discussion about closing those archives to the public, due to lack of use. I never heard if that happened, and haven't needed to go back there for a long time. If you need the courthouse phone number, let me know and I'll go grab the phone book for you. ----- Original Message ----- From: <deweinhold@juno.com> To: <PADUTCHgenONLY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, March 03, 2000 8:32 AM Subject: Re: [PaDgo] Re: Probate records > Marge, > You may receive other answer,s (and I do hope so). > It has been MANY years ago that I did research at the Lancaster County > Courthouse andat that time if I found no WILL for a person, I would check > the Intestate Records, at that time WERE there. > > This may not help you, if you live MILES away. > > Ernest > ________________________________________________________________ > YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! > Juno now offers FREE Internet Access! > Try it today - there's no risk!
