Dear PDGO-Rooters: A few minutes ago I received the following unsigned note from one member of this list. Here we go again. How about we stick to genealogy. That is what we agreed to when we joined thins list. Dear Sir or Madam: If you feel that the content of the message I sent to the Northeast list has nothing to do with genealogy in general and is not applicable to New England genealogy in specific, then I have to tell you that I believe that you stand in grievous error. Any effort on the part of misguided and ignorant members of Congress to impede the free flow of information of an historical and genealogical nature is a matter that interferes with the pursuit of family history data, which is clearly interference with the intent and content of this list. Indeed, in its most stringent interpretation, it could close down all of Rootsweb's maillists, to say nothing of all the web sites that are slowly emerging that hold transcriptions of original source data. I must conclude that you did not think the matter through to a logical conclusion when you wrote, castigating me for my posting. Sincerely, Allan E. Green (please note that I did sign my name, which is more than you did!)
