This is a hint for Windows 98 users (and I think win 95): Unless for some reason it initially never got installed for you, "Character Map" is a little program found in win 98's "System Tools". It allows you to find and produce all manner of special characters on your keyboard such as the umlaut. If you need to do this often, creating a shortcut right on your desktop to load this little program can be quite helpful. The program shows you all the characters and when you select a character it gives you the keystrokes to produce it in your document. Or one can choose a character (or even several) and then click on the "copy" button. Now you can go and paste it (them) right into your document using the clipboard. Phil ..........................
