John was born either 1738 or March 1741 ( DAVIS, Stauffer book) in Bierholderhof, Rohrbach GERM. He was a Mennonite minister and bishop. He died in August of 1836 in Washington co., MD. I don't have a death date for Elizabeth or burial locations for either of them. Bishop Stauffer was taxed in Hempfield Two in 1775, Manor from 1779-1783, and Rapho from 1783-1787. C. 1790, he and his family moved to Washington co., MD. Their daughter Anna ( Nancy) Stauffer was a 4ggrandmother. She died in 1813 in Bullskin Twp., Fayette Co., PA and is buried in the Pennsville Baptist Cemetery. Her husband was Jacob Shank b. c. 1770 in donegal Twp., PA as the son of Johannes SCHENK b. 1748 in Donegal or Conestoga. I do not have a date for the marriage of Jacob Shank and Nancy Staufffer which I believe would have taken place in Washington co., MD pre 1795 when the Shank family left for Fayette Co., PA.
