Messages posted on that board may be placed there by *anyone*, and they don't have to be a member of this list to post a query on the board. We have a "gateway" from the board to this list meaning that messages posted there are automatically copied to this list. When you see a message on the list that says it is gatewayed from the message board that should be a clue to you that the person who posted the query probably isn't a list member. When you have information for someone who posts to the board (a gatewayed message), or you would like additional information from them, then the best way to reply is to post a response ON the board. In your case, if you cannot do that, then be sure if you reply on the list instead of the board that you also copy the poster privately in your reply. The poster's email address is always included in the gatewayed message--so you should be able to reply to them by including their address in the "Send To" box in your reply. Joan
