    3. Seeking information on Wolcott Teachout, especially his ancestry, which has been my brick wall. Wolcott was born about 1810 in NY, and died in Ingham County, MI, in 1871. He was married three times, to Sarah Severance, Phoebe Rix, and Sarah Gunderman, and had 11 children. The one new bit of information about him is that in the 1840 NY Census, Ontario County, there is listed living next door to him a John Teachout, age 60-70, a female 50-60, and a another female 20-30, who it seems likely are his father, mother and a sister. The writing on the census microfilm is badly faded, but thanks to the magic of xerox the writing can be made out. Would be happy to exchange data.

I remember Charlie when we used to visit Rothsville as kids. My father, Eugene, was the 13th and youngest child of Frank S. Musser and Emma Hess's children. He was born in 1909. Wilbur was my father's nephew who was close in age to him. He always spoke highly of Wilbur and I remember meeting him years ago. We really are related. I am so pleased you contacted me. We always heard that someone in Wilbur's family had done a family histroy but we did not know who. Are you the one? I have collected some information on my own but would love to hear from you again. I have a Jacob Schock who died in lanc. Co. in 1782. He did not have a Rachael but there are probably other Schocks. Another possibility is "Zook" . These old German names are tough ! Mary C. Case

    3. My GGGgrandfather, Lucas Schaak (Schaack in some records) was born in Schmitshousen, Bavaria (now Rheinland Pfaltz) February 18, 1778. He seems to have changed to Shock soon after arrival and the family has been quite consistant with that spelling. Alison

Miller's father was John Miller (1786KY-1841IN) and Barbary Bates (1797NC-aft1870 IN) was mother. They moved from Rowan NC where they were married in 1822 to Warrick Co., IN, having children in NC and in TN & KY as well as IN.. Thanks to the Indiana Marriages of 1850 thru 1920, two of James L. Miller's (1834/35-1879) brothers married later in life when they gave the names of the parents. Also birth places of John & Barbary are from Census info given by children. I am still trying to find out what that middle name is, Loveles, Londes, one cousin says Loneles. Still need John's parents, and other siblings. It is possible that a Henry Miller in Warrick Co is brother. Also still haven't found that Jacob or Henry my father remembered, or gotten back to Pennsylvania yet.
