I have tried Weibel, Wibel, Whible and Wible--which is the spelling my father used. My gr. grandfather and grandfather had a brick business in Phila., and the city directories have the spelling Wibel. It's funny you mentioned the Vible - I've heard family pronounce it that way but always passed it off -like it was said jokingly.I guess it's a thought, I should try that too! Where are your Wible's from? I would love to hear from you again. Thanks, Pam

What I have shows she was born on 23 April 1868 and died 3 March 1947. Her middle intial is S. Also look under Hinterliter, Hinderleitner the spelling vary within the same families. Hope this helps.

Surnames: Wible/Weible/Vible Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3dB.2ACI/6031.1 Message Board Post: If you are looking for the name Wible, try some other spellings. My family spelling is Weible, I think there are other spellings of the same name. From what I read we all orginated in the Bem, Switzerland-Germany area, but started to branch out before the war. Try this spelling. I found out my great grandfather was buried in Jeannette, Pa. and the spelling on his tumbstone was Vible, which was the German spelling. My family all descended from this. How the name got spelled Weible is beyond me, but here I am so I hope this helps you. I know the Weible's had very large families, I am one of 10 children. If I can help more please contact me.
