The oldest family member I have listed is Samuel Wible who died in 1803 in Pilesgrove Twp., Salem Co. New Jersey. No date or location of birth. His wife I have only as Mary. I have no other information beyond that. An older family member gave me the information that they were from Holland. I have no doubt you are correct that this was only a port of departure. I have Samuel and Mary's son listed as Samuel born Feb. 1784, died May 1854 in Pilesgrove Twp., Salem Co. New Jersey. His wife is listed as Ruth Fogg also from Salem Co., New jersey. I do have some other information going forward but would like to know more further back. I have tried other spellings - Wiebel, Wibel, Whible, and Wible as the latter is the spelling I used growing up. Any help or advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Pam

I strongly presume that Holland was only the country where they left Europe. Perhaps the correct spelling was Weible or Weiblen. There were some family members who emigrated from Neuhausen an der Erms ( see my homepage http://mitglied.lycos.de/Eberhard_Fritz/neuausw.htm ). If you do not tell the name of the most ancient family member you know and his places of living it is very difficult to give you any advice.
