His wife was Lydia Weaver born April 25, 1791 in Virginia and died July 28, 1862 in Carrol County, IN. This information in verified in the Indiana Census records and the Beard Family Cemetery (Cutler, IN Carroll County). 3. Posted on: Pennsylvania Dutch Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Dutch?read=4654 Surname: Blemler, Demy or Demmy ------------------------- I'm seeking information on Daniel Blemler, born 04 Jul 1848 in Dillsburg, PA (York County?) who migrated to IL, I believe as part of the Dunkard Brethren. In IL this family intermarried with the Demy/Demmy family also from PA. The earliest Demy I have is John C. Demy born 07 Sep 1832 in PA. He was still in Dauphin Co. in 1865 where his son Henry was born. Do either of these families connect with any information you have?

    1. [PaDgo] "expiration" on land warrants, surveys, etc.
    2. Rinscheid, Jeffrey L (Jeff)
    3. Can someone explain to me the "warrant" process in Penna in the mid-to-late 1700's? In particular, I'm wondering about whether warrants "expired" if a person didn't take action on them, and, if so, how long did they have to make the required steps. And what were the required steps - was it sufficient to have your warranted land surveyed? Did you have to live on it (you did in the late 1600's, per William Penn's plan to settle parts of Penna)? How long until you had to patent it? Could you transfer a warrant/survey/patent to another party? Was there a "deed" process to do so, or how was it transferred? [I've got a case out in Bedford County where a potential relative, William Wertz, warrants land in 1784, that same land is surveyed by a Benjamin Shoemaker in 1795, and I never hear more about the land (though I'm pretty certain it is occupied today. :-) There are no deeds between William Wertz and anybody (nor a will), and a similar statement can be made about Benjamin SHoemaker. - Jeff R

I have not been able to tie my Nicholas into a PA family as yet. Do you know where your family originated? Ann Lock amel@dellnet.com

    2. Susan Cunningham
    3. Posted on: Pennsylvania Dutch Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Dutch?read=4649 Surname: Sames ------------------------- George Sehm from Lauterecken, Germany, came to PA in 1732 and took up a warrant for land in Milford Twp., Bucks Co. in 1735. Descendents use the names Sames (my line) and Seem (George, Jr. who settled in Allen Twp., Northampton Co.) A cousin tells me that he heard from a man in England who says the Sames family is from Little Totham, Essex. One family member reputedly went to Germany to fight in the Thirty Years War and wound up settling there. Evidently his descendent then came to PA with PA German migration. I myself have no proof but it sounds plausible.
