    3. Jo Ann, You mention Hagerstown and Miller here so I need to ask this question one more time. I have never found the family for a Johannes Miller and Catharina Barnhart (Bernhartin in the marriage register). The were married 11 Feb 1787 in the City of Frederick. Does this have any connections with your Millers? 2. M J Moser
    3. Mary Jane, I would like to know more about your research on the Dutch from Netherlands. From the research I've been doing in Connecticut, I've learned that in the early 1600's the Dutch were establishing communities all along the eastern seaboard of North America. It was not the Dutch government that was doing this, but the commercial shipping companies. They had such a community in what is now Hartford, CT. before Thomas Hooker arrived in Hartford. Hooker chose to setup his community near the Dutch. He certainly had his choice of other suitable places along the Connecticut River. At that time, the only other settlement in the immediate area was Windsor. Hooker actually established his community between the Windsor settlement and the Dutch Fort. I find it very interesting that Hooker and his followers came to the New World from the Netherlands after fleeing from England and living in Holland for a while. The Dutch definitely had a presence in early America. It would be nice to learn more about it. Marilyn CT REDSKI9136@aol.com wrote: > > > Hi Cathy, I have been researching the Dutch for a long time. 3. Hello Denise, I've traced my ROTHs to Berks Co. Paul & Catharine REITER_ROTH were married in the First Reformed Church in Reading Dec.1805...Two of their children are also registered there: Thomas Bradley b. 08-07-1810 (sponsors: Abraham & Catharine MEIER) and sister, Sophia b. 03-27-1813 (sponsors: Valentin & Maria EBLING). Paul & Catharine are my brick wall. Eddie SMITH (renie@epix.net) has a Paul & Mary Catharine REITER_ROTH both b. in Columbia Co. PA 1786 & 1787 with six children: Joseph, Charles, William F. b. 05-15-1819, Elizabeth ROTH_HICKS, Kitty ROTH_RAWN and A. ROTH_YOST. We *think* we have the same family, though Eddie doesn't have any record of my Thomas & Sophia and I don't have any record of his six children. Do any of the above names mean anything to you? Regards, Paul Alan Roth

    3. >"Eighteenth Century Emigrants from the Northern Alsace to America" by Burgert Chuck.. The copy of "Eighteenth Century Emigrants from the Northern Alsace to America" that I have in my possession does not indicate a Volume number in it's title. My copy was published by Picton Press. There is however the following notation: "This Volume was prepared for distrubution to members of The Pennsylvania German Society during 1992, as Volume XXVI in its series of publications on Pennsylvania German History and culture". A quick check with the on-line catalog of the Los Angeles Public Library lists and gives the titles of eleven works they have by Annette K. Burgert and the library may not actually have them all. See: http://catalog.lapl.org:80/cgi-bin/cw_cgi?getBasicTerms+19670 , pick search by Author, and type "Burgert". One on the list that might be of special interest is titled "Master Index to Emigrants Documented in the Published Works of Annette K. Burgert". ..........................
