Posted on: Pennsylvania Dutch Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Dutch?read=4863 Surname: Harshberger, Beckwith ------------------------- Saw the query on names Harshberger (Harshbarger) and Beckwith. Also the reponse about the area of Moon Twp. Centre Co. Would like to correspond with you about my Beckwith and Harsberger connection. My great great grandmother Elizabeth P. Beckwith was the daughter of Squire Clement Beckwith who founded Port Matilda. Elizabeth was to Clement's first marriage. To his second marriage he had a daughter Margaretta who married a Harshberger, she was married 3 times. I have some info on her marriages and letters Margaretta wrote, and a big news paper article on her and about her letters. I also can put you in touch with Tom McKivison, he does not have a computer, who has load of info on the Harshberger and Beckwith lines. I'm interested in knowing if the area of Moon Twp. also had any Snyders. Elizabeth P. Beckwith married Daniel Sansbury Snyder. I have been trying to find his parents and siblings. They had a son, Ithiel Snyder, and he enlisted in the Civil War in Moon Twp., Centre Co. after the family moved to Jefferson Co. and then settled in Clarion Co., Pa. Ithiel did move with them, but wonder why he was in Moon Twp. when he enlisted in the Civil War. Darla Kelly

    2. Dora Smith
    3. am interested in informaiton on Ritter family in Berks County, 1700's, particularly the following families. Ritter, Barbara Albany (township, I guess) Sept 25 1781 Land over the Blue Mountain. and 1/2 of saw mill ... to my children, Ferdinand and John and Daus Catharina, formerly Ritter, Anna Mary, Eve Rosina and Elisabeth, Juliana formerly Ritter, and grdau Elisabeth Wagner ...son Jacob. That Elisabeth Wagner is most likely my ancestor - given that Ritter's, Jung's, and Johann and Henry Wagner and wives regularly sponsored each other's children in baptism. Henry and Elizabeth Wagner were parents of Barbara Wagner, b 1774 or 1775. Allegedly lived in Alsace in 1804. As nearly as I can tell, her father lived on a UFO, since HEnry Wagner who died in 1816 in Reading wasn't the right one. Two possibly sisters got married who lived in Alsace in the 1790's - Susanne, and Rosina. (Rosina isn't even a German name - and it seemingly ran in the Ritter family.) Young, Adam Exeter. 1794-96. Wife Maria. Son Adam my plantation in Exeter 140 acres. daus Maria wife of John Snyder (Schneider), Rebecca wife of Nicholas Shell, Deborah, Christina wife of John Folweller, and wife of Christopher Kissling. Seems like it was page 926. His birthdate in the book was listed as 1852. I don't know if that is correct or not. When he married Elizabeth Schurch in 1884, he spelled his name Bronimann. I also found on the internet 2 Rudolf Bronnimann's, father of both was Christian Bronnimann - all born in Switzerland. One Rudolf was born in 1848, the other in 1853. Thanks for your help.
