    3. Posted on: Pennsylvania Dutch Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Dutch?read=4913 Surname: Gotwals, Krupp, Moyer, Price, Hunsicker, Harley, Landes, Reiff, Cassel, Detweiler ------------------------- There are several published books with bits and pieces of the Gotwals and Krupp Families. There is also data in the FHC database - when you can get in, and when it works well. The way I have chosen to sift and sort this often conflicting data to date (still working to confirm, but over 100 miles to source data) is by comparison to a family vcr tape made by my mother-in-law's sister just before she died. The problem is that I have found flaws in her recollections at times, proving no source is ever 100% correct. As I have it: William E Gotwals b. 11-29-1864 first m. Anna Krupp b. 2-16-1866 and d. 11-16-1888 (son Clayton Gotwals b. 11-16-1888 d. 1942) Anna's death likely from childbirth and dates match. Infant was adopted, later m. Lillian Schueck b.8-10-1888 d. 1982 Wm then m. Anna's younger sister, the widow Elizabeth Krupp Moyer b. 1874 d. 11-19-1916 buried Oakland Cem PHL. They had 1)John N. 1901-1947, 2)Katherine Gotwals Bennett 1904-1996 and star of the vcr 3)Florence Elizabeth Gotwals Carey 1909-1993 and my wonderful mother in law 4)Paul, still living A third Krupp sister, Emma, lived with the family in Kensington to help keep house and raise the kids after Lizzie died in 1916. I have the 1920 census with her, Wm, and his 4 kids. The Krupp parents were John H.(9-12-1835;1-21-1880) and Mary Moyer Krupp (b.1839) of Kulpsville Pa. they had 8 kids: Emma b. 1859, Maggie, Mary, Anna Krupp Gotwals, Katie M Krupp Angeny b. 1871 (m. Wm G, Angeny of Dublin PA)Elizabeth Krupp Moyer Gotwals, Hannah, John M. Krupp b. 4-21-1879 John H Krupp was son of Jacob Krupp and Magdalena Hunsicker. Mary Moyer was dau of Jacob L Moyer and Mary (Hackman) Kulp Moyer. I hope this helps someone, and any additions or corrections would be appreciated either by posting or by e-mail.

    3. Posted on: Pennsylvania Dutch Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Dutch?read=4908 Surname: ------------------------- As with the other responses, I don't have exact tie-ins to your material, but hope what I do have will help: The immigrant in my Schoofner, etc. line was: John Martin Schoofner, I have no dates for him, but he came from Germany, lived in Berks Co, possibly Lancaster Co (where he was married to a Dorothea,) and is buried in Chester County. One of his daughters, Anna Maria Schoffner/Schaffner, was born 5 Oct 1769 in Berks Co, married Frederick Guthart/Goodhart and died 24 Feb 1844, Berks Co. His other daughter, Mary Magdelena Schaffner/Schoffner, was born on 19 May 1771 in Berks Co, m. Jacob Guthart/Goodhart, and died 31 Jan 1816 in Cumberland Co - buried at Bishop/Hisner Cem near Palmstown. It's most likely that there were other children, but I don't have them. If there was a son born around the time Anna Maria and Mary Magdalena were born, he would be the right age to be the father of your Jacob. I wish I could be more helpful, but hope this info gives you some leads. Thera Link: Schwenk & Allied Families of PA URL: <http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=thera>
