I need information on the Wagner family/ families of Bern, Ruscombmanor, and Exeter, and possibly also Alsace, Berks County, PA, 18th century. I have evidence via will abstracts and the beginnings of a genealogy that Brenda Tanner put at Rootsweb worldconnect, that these were a single family. Certainly the Bern and Ruscombmanor Wagner's were a single family and they owned land in Alsace and Exeter. I also need to know what are sources specifically on this family. I gather they are all descended from John Jacob Wagner and wife Anna Sophia from Germany; Brenda Tanner put that their children were all born in Berks County, beginning 1722, and put that hey were all born close together in Berns and Ruscombmanor, so they may have been in Berks County very early and owned alot of land in more than one place from the beginning. I specifically am looking for Henry/ Heinrich/ Henrich Wagner and alt spellings, wife Elizabeth, who lived somewhere around Alsace, Exeter and REading by 1782 and were having children by 1775, and Johannes Wagner and wife Susanna probably Liesz of Exeter, who was probably Henry's brother. But failing specific information on these two people, I'll take all information on the family group I think they are most likely to have belonged to. Evidence is everywhere concerning Henry and John/ JOhannes, and Henry's daughter's husband, that they were on the outskirts of a large, intensely interrelated family group consisting of RITTER (Frantz and George of Exeter, possibly also Ferdinand family of Albany), JUNG (Exeter and poss also Oley), SCHNEIDER (from Hans and Catherine, in Oley and Exeter by 1823), KEIM, HOCH, and DETURK, and more peripherally LEVAN, SCHENKEL, HILL. and possibly a family named SHILT or CHILD. I was indeed surprised that there were unrlated Bretheren denominations. It was stated that the Bretheren Encyllopedia did not cover all bretheren denominations. Question: Could someone let me know if the name Musser , Mosser or Messer is covered in the encyclopedia and what volume? I was guessing my Musser family were River Bretheren. If I can find volume, I will check it outon interlibrary loan Reward: $100 for birth record for Daniel Musser b, 24 June 1793 in PA.
