A WERNER family who were immediate neighbors of Elias WAgner of Exeter, died 1754 or 1755, are tied somehow to Johannes Wagner of Cumru, 1751-1831, married to Susannah Liesz, who more than likely was Elias's son. Can anyone tell me about these Werner's and their ties to the Wagner's? Elias's widow was named Margaret ____. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get Yahoo! Hi - I am looking for information on Johannes "John" and Regina (Berkheiser) Becker and their children. They were both probably born between 1800 and 1810 in Berks Co.,PA (now Schuylkill Co., PA). They had at least 7 children: Louis (b.7/29/1830), Catharina Anna (b.12/31/1831), Sara Anna (b.8/13/1833), Elisabetha (b.12/2/1837), Lea (b.12/8/1839), George (b.2/16/1847), and Emma Louisa (b.8/17/1849). All of the children except for one were baptized at Jerusalem Church in Schuylkill Haven. I have been unable to locate them in any census as of yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Gregory
> The roster of the 122nd Pennsylvania Volunteers has been posted > on Rootsweb at > ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/pa/lancaster/military/122pavol.txt I'm going to send to NARA for any records about David REIFSNYDER listed in Co. H, but I'll post a query here too. There is a David I'd really like to know more about in my lines. David was b. 8/10/1841, probably in Coventry, Chester Cty., to Maria DOLBY (b. 1815) and Daniel REIFSNYDER (b. 1800). He was baptised in 1846 at St. John's Center Church, East Earl Twp., Lancaster Cty., where the birth was noted as illegitimate. His grandmother Dorothea (DIETZ) DOLBY sponsored. David's father Daniel REIFSNYDER was the blind brother of my ggg grandfather Samuel REIFSNYDER (1805-1864). His mother Maria DOLBY was the little sister of Samuel's wife, Catherine DOLBY (1810-1889). Daniel lived with Sam and Catherine throughout his life. Maria went on to marry Isaac DANFIELD (1797-1871), and David REIFSNYDER was raised with the Danfields on the farm right next to that of his uncle and birth father in Caernarvon. (I've toured the farm...you can see the Danfield house right down the hill from the other). The Danfields eventually left that farm, but in 1860, there is a David DANFIELD at the right age working on the farm of David and Israel KERN. I'm betting that's him and David either changed his name to Danfield, or the Kerns just knew he was from that family and reported him on the census that way. David fascinates me, and I'd love to know what became of him if anyone has any clues. Jodi Reifsnyder Adrian hijodi@home.com

Posted on: Pennsylvania Dutch Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Dutch?read=5055 Surname: Karmony, Cormeney, Karmini, Karmony, Karmeny ------------------------- I'm not sure this will help...I've been researching the same family, as I have an ancestor, Louise N. Cormeney that married Daniel Miller. She was born in Anneville, Lebanon about 1820. Her father, as far as I can determine, was John Carmony, and her mother Elisabeth Reist. They were married on April 28, 1811 in Lebanon, Pa. John may be the son of John and Juliana Karmenie, or possibly Phillp (Johann Phillp) and Anna. I hope this gives you further clues, as your girl could be a sister to the above Louise! Good hunting !

I think from what I have so far learned that my HEnry and JOhannes Wagner, b respectively maybe around 1740, and exactly in 1751, were probably sons, possibly nephews, of Elias Wagner who lived in Exeter, and died there in 1755, with a widow named Margaret. He died intestate and she was appointed administrator. I also think they were probably related to Adam Wagner of Roscrumbmanor, died there 1773, who had a son named Elias. NONE of the Wagner's of Berks County used Biblical or any other names but common German ones, except this particular family. I also suspect they had relatives of same names living in Heidelberg Township. This was all in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Can anyone tell me anything about this family? The only family they are at all likely to have been related to were in Bern, as that family had links to Roscrombmanor, but they did not use Biblical names, except for Jacob, which was a common German and Dutch name. The name Elias ran in the Exeter WAgner family for over a century, to judge from teh probate records, and also the property maps, and so did the name Isaac. Can anyone also tell me why the prediliction for Biblical names in this family? I've seen it before only in Quaker ancestors; surely it has significance. Folks: I'm running into such high costs with my Wagner line deeds and probate records, with the deeds office charging $12 per name and they already got $12 just to send me the stuff on Henry alone, and my Wagner ancestors spelled their name 5 ways, and probate records of people who died intestate with minor children that are 20 pages long, at $1 a page, and I don't even need complete copies in most cases, just the info in them, that I think it may be cheaper to hire someone to go to these records to research them for me. I couldn't even get the tax office to tell me how to get 1770 to 1830 tax records, with $5 and a SASE. Can anyone suggest some reliable researchers who don't need $200 up front?
