I got this message by accident as I was surfing. I placed the query as a result of identifying my gggggrandfather using the 17th and 18th century naming patterns by assuming the first male child is named after his fathers grandfather. That is my gggrandfather Barnet/Bernard Fry/Frey named his 1st male child Charles. Typically this would mean Barnet's fathers name was Charles. However, I've identified a John Fry as the likely father of Barnet and John is what Barnet named his 3rd son so I assumed Barnet took a little license with the naming pattern.
