Francis HAGAN married Margaret RAMSOWER/RAMSAUR in Frederick, Maryland in 1788. Margaret was a second generation American from Bavaria, Germany. Her family arrived in the United States through the port of Philadelphia in the 1730's. I have searched Maryland for the origins of Francis HAGAN and conclude he was not born in that state. Is anyone researching the HAGAN/HAGEN surname and found a Francis born in 1763? Tks, Fred Hagan

The name has had several spellings here in North Carolina. Within the same immediate family some family members had the spelling of Helsabeck, Hilsabeck, Helsebeck and there are others. But your earliest Hilsabeck realative is Jurg Frederich Hiltzebeck. Barry [email protected]

I'm sorry if we are not supposed to use Rootsweb for virus alerts, but I ended up with 2 different ones on Monday from [email protected]: [email protected] and [email protected] Thank goodness I was able to get rid of them right away; still took about 2 hours to be sure nothing was left and that the computer would start up all right. Where to look to find the name of the person who has the Bonded Apprentice. I have a Henry Neider who put his two sons, Abraham and Henry Neider, in Bond Apprentice because he couldn't work. This was in his pension papers from the Revolutionary War. They lived in Reading, Berks Co., Pa. I'm trying to find the boys Mothers name. I read in the family chronicle , their may be books where you can find this. It could be Henry, the father may have been bonded also or worked for this person because he only shows up on the 1790 census and never shows uo again till the pension papers. The pension papers are 1819 so the boys were already in bond. Can anyone out there help me. Thank you in advance. Joan L in Fl

I have since learned that I am descended from the same Joseph Loomis from Windsor but from the Fifth generation, Solomon who married Mary Dart. My Elijah is from the seventh generation down the line. Guess that makes us distant cousins.
