    1. [PDGO] Katherine Boerst/Burst from PENNSYLVANIA?
    2. Buffys97
    3. I am searching for information about my g-grandmother, Katherina Burst/Boerst, who eventually moved to Brown County, Ohio and married my great-gramdfather, Frederick Theodor Arbogast. Katherine was born 21 May 1745 and her father was allegedly Jacob Burst/Boerst. Just two days ago, someone thinkg she found my Katherine listed in 1860 Brown County census as "Catherine Birst" in a sort of boarding house in Arnheim Village there. The family she lived with was Ludwig Braun and wife Franziska Lechner Braun. It said she was from Pennsylvania. Naturally, no one knows where! I always thought that Katherine was Catholic, but the first record of her living in Ripley (Brown County) before her marriage occurs when she is baptismal sponsor for Katherine Roemer, d. of Valentine Roemer & Christine Linn in 1868 in a Lutheran Church. Katherine was reported (by my father) to have been an indentured servant and illiterate. If anyone sees anything in this mess resembling a lead, please enlighten me. I am out of ideas for Ketherine Boerst/Burst! Thanks, Buffy

My ggm was Quintella Elnora Slifer, daughter of Jacob L. Slifer and Catherine Trackler. He was a son of George Slifer and Susan Strunk. George was born in Alsace, Germany and Susan was born in Pa. Jacob and Catherine had several children; Wm. Henry, Quintella Elnora, Nettie L., Laura E., Mollie(Mary?), Jeanette L., Jacob A., and Margarette J. who died as a young girl. Our Slifer line starts with George Slifer and Susan Strunk. I have no other information yet on Susan Strunk's heritage. I am still looking for the correct George Taylor who was my ancestor. The Slifers, Taylors came from Pa. to Greene Co, Clinton Co.?, Montgomery Co.?, Ohio and then came to Indiana into Hancock Co, Greenfield, and on to Grant and Huntington Co.s. Most of the Slifer relatives are buried in southern Huntington Co./northern Grant Co. I have pictures of several tombstones. I did find a Peter Strunk while looking for ships records for George Slifer, but I can'! t locate that info now. Merry Christmas:) James C. Taylor
