I didn't see a comment on your SWEET family later in the week. This probably will be of limited help but there is a Grafton, a small town, just a few miles north of Milwaukee, but in Ozaukee county. I haven't checked a gazetter for Granton and I don't know the Clark and Wood county areas well enough to say that Granton did or does exist, or doesn't. But Grafton does, and would have been a farming, possibly small manufacturing, maybe lumbering community then. Have you posted this to the Wood county, WI list/board which is quite active? The are buried at the Lutheran Church in Saint Thomas, PA. I descend through their son, George William (aka Billy). I'm so hoping we have a connection. I have been told J. Frederick came to the states in 1826 or 1827.

Messages posted on that board may be placed there by *anyone*, and they don't have to be a member of this list to post a query on the board. We have a "gateway" from the board to this list meaning that messages posted there are automatically copied to this list. When you see a message on the list that says it is gatewayed from the message board that should be a clue to you that the person who posted the query probably isn't a list member. When you have information for someone who posts to the board (a gatewayed message), or you would like additional information from them, then the best way to reply is to post a response ON the board. In your case, if you cannot do that, then be sure if you reply on the list instead of the board that you also copy the poster privately in your reply. The poster's email address is always included in the gatewayed message--so you should be able to reply to them by including their address in the "Send To" box in your reply. Joan
Joan, I am not sure I understand your most recent message, unless, it is something that I have been thinking of for sometime, and that many a time,s no name To or From, or personal E-mail address is given. It would be greatly appreciated it said information were listed with each E-mail. Ernest ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Please note that when you see a message posted to the list that has been gatewayed from the corresponding message board, the poster of that message may not be a list subscriber. Therefore, the poster may not see your reply unless you post it on the board as a response to the gatewayed message, or reply directly by private email to the poster. The preferred method is to reply on the board so that others will also benefit from your response. To reply to the post on the board, click on the link in the gatewayed message or, if the URL isn't clickable, copy and paste the URL into your browser window. Thanks! Sorry to butt into your chit-chat with Franz, but I had a thought (rare as that might be). Do you think your HAUCK could possibly be another spelling for HUCK? My six greats grandfather was Johann George Huck; his father, Hans Casper Huck. I have them in Town Herman, Wisconsin, in the late 1600's/early 1700's Anxiously awaiting your reply, Donna Lenhoff ---------- >From: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: [PDGO] Re: Hauck in Germany >Date: Mon, Jan 14, 2002, 8:31 AM > >This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > >Surnames: Hauck >Classification: Query > >Message Board URL: > >http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3dB.2ACI/1854.2662.1.1.1 > >Message Board Post: > >Hello , Franz! > >Maybe You have information about Johann Peter Hauck, who was born 1749? > > >==== PADUTCHgenONLY Mailing List ==== >NO FLAMING ALLOWED ON THIS LIST!
