There is a new RootsWeb mailing list for the surname GEISELMAN and variants such as GEISSELMAN and GEISELMANN. Anyone with an interest in the GEISELMAN surname is welcome to join. There was an existing GEISELMAN RootsWeb/Ancestry message board which I adopted some time ago and I thought it would be fitting to have a corresponding mailing list for more in depth discussion of the surname research. To subscribe to the list, send your request to: [email protected] (for mail mode) or [email protected] (for digest mode) and put only the word SUBSCRIBE in the subject and body of the email. The GEISELMAN message board is located here: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=surnames.geiselman Messages posted to the board are gatewayed to the GEISELMAN list. The GEISELMAN surname is most commonly found in York County, PA, and in the surrounding counties. Joan

She married a James Hopps at first, he died and she later remarried a John Daniel Mcleod. Their oldest child was Christena Agnes -my grandmother- She was born 1892 in June. She died Oct. 1967. Hello friends, I am looking for any info on John and Maria FRANK, who lived in / around Lancaster Co. PA around 1830 - 1860 or so. Their son Benjamin married Elizabeth PLASTERER in Brickerville in 1853. I understand there is info available on the PLASTERER line, but I have not been able to locate anything on the FRANK family. Benjamin and Elizabeth migrated to Naperville, IL in 1854-55 and are my daughter's ggg-grandparents. Would also appreciate it if anyone knows the church that Rev. Charles REES was associated with in Brickerville, where Benjamin and Elizabeth were married. The marriage record only lists "Lutheran Church". Thank you, Joyce Kyce La Grange Park, IL

You should be able to find it in a good genealogical library or at least get it on interlibrary loan. In fact there may be copies still available for sale. They were from PA., and since most of the family has now passed away, it has been very difficult to get any information. My husband's name is Richard Poticher, his father's name was Joseph K. Poticher who married Elizabeth F. Linkchorst. We are unsure of Joseph's father's first name, but it may have been Raymond. Joseph's mother's name was Carrie and on my father-in-laws birth certificate it showed his mother's maiden name as Kirkpatrick. If you have any information that would help us to trace his family we would appreciate what ever you may know. They were all from Schuykill Co. Please E-Mail me at [email protected] Thank you Teresa Poticher
Neither have the Updegraff books have a Montross marriage and the Williams are too many to check without more information. Nor do I have it in my own files. Try the Met Pleasant, Ohio courthouse records as MANY Updegraffs lived there. I have found conflicting information about him but both entries I found had him marrying an Elizabeth Browne in about 1815. She was born in 1803. Both were born near Hagerstown, in Frederick Co. MD. They came to Ohio in the early 1800's and had 13 children. I am descended from their daughter, Suzanna. They did not change their name, but spelled it Hawver here in Ohio. Can you tell me anything about the name change? Who were Daniel and Elizabeth's parents? Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. Robin
