    3. HI, Don. When they did the cataract in my left eye about 4 weeks ago, I had them leave me a little near-sighted, which is what I've always been. My eye doctor suggested it because I am a shooter. I've always been near sighted, so it really doesn't bother me at all. It turns out that I am a little more nearsighted than I used to be, but I can see a whole lot better because the cataract is gone. I have less than one week of steroid drops left to do, a month of the anti-inflammatory drops, and anti-biotic drops that I have to use until they are gone. I haven't scheduled the right one yet, because it a very slow growing type of cataract and has not hampered my vision yet. The next surgery for me will be to fix my drooping eyelids. The left one is actually interfering with my vision, so I will talk with the eye doc to get that done. I can read without my glasses better than I did before. Hang in there, Don. You'll get there. It really takes a while for everything to heal up - at least 3 to 4 weeks. Isn't it cool after all these years to see without glasses? Good for you!!! I'm still here too. had cataract surgery on the 11th of this month in my right eye, and will have the left one done on the 4th of March. Getting used to this artificial lens they put in my eye and being able to see without glasses. Have to use reading glasses, though, and finally getting used to that so I can use the computer.
