Hi, Tracy. Wow! What a storm this has been - a true, blue Nor'Easter!!! We haven't had one of those in a while; and I always dread them. Here where I live in Vestal, NY, we got about 2 feet of snow. As one progresses south and easterly, it gets really bad. There are 225,000 people out of power in NYS. Some areas have had no power since Tuesday. I spoke with one lady today south of me that got hit with 6 feet of snow and she had no power. She told me her husband was out trying to dig them out and that she and the kids (I heard a small baby crying lustily in the background) were all weary, bored, and cold. I told her I would say a prayer for her that they get the power on soon for her and the rest of the people around her. I spoke with others down closer to the city who told me there are trees down all over and that the trains aren't running because of downed trees and lines. My husband and the next door neighbor have been sharing the snow blowing duty for them, us, and the lady across the street who is elderly. This morning, the two of them got out and did 5 driveways and helped two others on the street. Our little snow-blower is only a two-stage, but it moves a lot of snow. Everyone is impressed with it. I've had it for about 18 years and I bought it used. I take good care of it, though, making sure it gets tuned up and gets parts replaced when it needs it. I think it has been in the repair shop only two or three times. I hope it never wears out because I don't think I could find another one like it. They just don't make things like they used to! I pray that everyone is safe and warm and surviving these storms.
