    3. Sheila, Isn't Bluefield called the "Air Conditioned City"? I know one of the WV cities is refered to that way. Have you heard of Bessie's Mountain, on Rt. 20 in Lerona? My brother and cousins use to sled down the mountain. I was always too little, and then when I was older we didn't get to visit in the winters. And then I grew up and said, "No way. That is a MOUNTAIN!". I love the ride on Rt. 20 between Athens and Hinton. Beautiful country!! Never heard of Ramps? I'll ask my aunt if she has. She's lived in WV for over 40 years. My cousins ex-wife lives on Possum Ridge, I believe it is. tracy --- Sheila wrote: > To answer Cathy's questions....Mercer County is located in the > southern part of WV...south of Beckley, WV, and about 1 1/2 hrs. from > Roanoke, VA, and 1 1/4 hrs. from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. > Bluefield WV is a a twin city with Bluefield, WV...was once a booming > coal town, but today is a typical small town America place to live! > We have country food and country names like "Country Girl Road", and > "Possum Hollow" Road, and foods like Ramps, and brown beans.
