Rick-- I think there is a polka version of EVERY song! This is from?the land of people who REALLY?love their polkas (lotsa Germans, Croatians, Slovenians, etc. around here!? Join us for PolkaFest next?May 30-June 1!) I mean, do you know anyone else who has a "Superbowl Polka" ? And yes, there is a "Johnstown Polka." I once went?to a 50th anniversary party, which turned out to be six hours of polka music.? It was kind of scary.? I had no idea that there were polka groupies.? But back to gumbo--maybe there's supposed to be okra in it but no one puts it in because it's so gross!? But I can't weigh in on that because I'm not a gumbo fan.? But I love "Jambalaya" the song--got the Hank Sr. version on my iPod!!? :o) --Debra ________________________________________________________________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone. Debra!!! I was a Polka groupie :o) Mom taught me the Polka at the age of 3, and it is SOOOOOOOOOOO much fun!!!! So much fun. If I could, I would be there with flying colors on at the Polka Fest!!!! In fact, just yesterday, the neighbor was rolling empty barrels to his truck, from across the street at their house, and the first song that came to mind, I started singing :o) ROLL OUT THE BARREL!!! :o) Lynn Debra wrote: > I once went?to a 50th anniversary party, which turned out to be six hours > of polka music.? Just a note about the "Roll out the Barrel"--("The Beer Barrel Polka")... When we lived in Prague, we visited the restaurant (pub) where it was written. The Czechs are great at the polka also!
