    3. I guess I will add my comments and make all of you in the cold, snowy country feel good. Right now, here in Arizona, it is 34 degrees, but by this afternoon it will be in the 70's. I worked outside for a while yesterday in a T-shirt. Enjoy your snow and cold weather! Don in AZ

    3. Isn't it amazing how the weather patterns runs and shifts? WE have very cold here in Vestal, NY. The temp is about 15° with a wind chill that's bringing it close to zero °. We have about 6" on the ground and some light flaking due this afternoon. I have not been having a good few months physically, so I am glad there hasn't been much snow. After Christmas dinner, I took the carcass of the turkey and cooked it down to make homemade turkey soup. It put so much stuff into it that it turned out to be turkey stew. I like to make soup; and it tastes so good on those cold, winter days when the humidity drives it into your bones and you just can't seem to get warm enough no matter what you do. Home made is much healthier, too - at least mine is because I never put any salt into my cooking, then yell at my husband when he does. <smile> It was so funny on Christmas day when we all sat down to dinner. My husband jumped up and headed for the kitchen saying, "I need some salt. Anybody else want salt?" Every one at the table said, "No, thank you." or "I'm good". He never brought the salt back to the table. It was quite funny - to me at least. I don't think the whole scene registered with the rest of them because they were either busy talking or were head down eating. A good example of peer pressure taking place without any thing negative being said. Ha! Some of my faves for cold days are chicken soup and a sandwich; or tomato soup with cheddar chunks dropped in it for the last minute or so of cooking served with a grilled cheese sandwich. YUM! That is my most favorite. The tomato soup seems to stick to your ribs. I found a way to make 'grilled' cheese sandwiches that is much healthier than it would normally be. I toast two slices of bread and spread with Smart Balance, then add slices of 2% cheese and nuke it for about 20-30 seconds. The cheese melts and it tastes really good. Common, people....... chime in here.......
