HI, Kathy. I can't believe your son had both done at the same time. What a chance that was! Here is what I'm taking: Prednisalone: to reduce swelling, redness, itching, and allergic reactions - 5 weeks Acuvail: an anti-inflammatory - 2 months Vigamox: an anti-biotic to prevent conjunctivitis - until it runs out - probably another couple of weeks. I now have a severe sinus infection or bronchitis or something going on. The Vigamox could be contributing to that, so I will ask if I can discontinue it when I see the doctor tonight. My mother never had anything more than eye drops for a couple of weeks, and I think they were artificial tears. Progress in medicine accounts for all of this. I'll be done with the Prednisalone in 4 more days, then I only have to deal with the Acuvail for another month. A ques. please.... why do you have to take all those meds with your surgery? I don't remember mom having to take that much. Only eye drops for a couple of weeks. My oldest son had both his eyes taken care of ( a few years ago) at one time..something I tried to talk him out of, but it worked out ok...just scared me to think about what could have happened.. Yes, I followed my own advice...I prayed. :) :) We are not really quiet around here. Its just that all this snow we have on the ground, the snow still falling, the wind still blowing....all those things muffle our screams of "WHEN IS SPRING GOING TO GET HERE"??!!?? hehehe... You could probably hear my DinL, Leslie, scream yesterday when they cancelled school....again!! She has 4 children, 2 foster kids. :) To all who have to go out in this mess, please be careful. Stay warm.
