    3. When I was a kid in the 1930's my father made elderberry wine. Also dandelion wine. If we could a cold, he would heat a small glass of wine, we would drink it, put some Vicks on our chest, get under the covers and sweat it out, I guess it works, I never been to a Doctor until I joined the Military. Maybe it was the witching hour that chased the cold away!!! Joe in sunny arizona Maricopa Co, not that damp weather in Cochise Country???? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sheila Kline" <sheilakline47@yahoo.com> To: <PaDutch-Life@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 13, 2007 2:01 PM Subject: [PD-LIFE] ELDERBERRY WINE & "WHITE LIGHTNING" > Connie...the elderberry wine that was supposedly used for medicinal > purposes in your house, must be like the "white lightning" here in WV that > is supposed to keep the "meanace" out of ya! 3. Mom use to let me have a half glass of Porter, with my dinnner_said it was a blood builder! I loved that stuff, though. Probably the wine built up the blood. Or maybe it WAS the "witching hour" as you said :o) LOL!!!!! Lynn Joe wrote: Maybe it was the witching hour that chased the cold away!!!
