Yes, us southers get spoiled with the humidity & when it's gone, some of us still think it's warm. My Schwann man was here yesterday with a warm coat on but had shorts on still! Told him he better get some pants on & he just smiled! Oh well, he's the one going to be sick! It is 60 degrees, but a cold one, with alittle wind blowing. Yikes, I haven't wanted to be outside today, but my shed that has my clothes washer & dryer in it, is out there, so I'm forced to! HA! HA! That's okay I took my little one for a walk/run earlier so it was alittle fun too today! But had to get some water, afterwards, I was parched! North of us supposed to be in the 20's & have a hard freeze, but by the weekend we're supposed to be in the 70's. Go figure! It depends on what I have on hand as to whether I use milk or water in the soup. Water keeps the 'tomatoey' taste going better than the milk, which makes it creamy tasting. We always used milk, too, because I grew up on a farm where it was plentiful. Most of the time now though, I use water because I am no longer a milk drinker, per se. I don't envy you the cold down there in Florida. At least we northerners are used to it and prepared for it. Down there, you really suffer when it gets cold. I used to feel sorry for my ex in-laws who lived in Charlotte, NC. They would come up here when it was 80° out and sit around in long pants and jackets because they were so cold from their blood thinning out so much. I wish you all good luck. Just stay warm! He loves cheese! And loves tomato soup too, but not sure he'd put together, but probably would knowing him! Now what do you put in the soup, milk or water? I've eaten both, but my childhood years we ALWAYS used milk, but nowadays they say water instead of milk for cakes, but ya really can't tell the difference for cakes! Cathy PS. Just so you know we're supposed to be getting 30's even down here in central FL! Wow, it's cold all day, & the winds, wow, about in the 30's which is really unusual! We even had a tornado warning last night which is also very unusual! North FL in the 20's! Yikes, & supposed to be that way tomorrow night too! Supposed to be only 52 tomorrow as a high, but weekend supposed to be in the 70's! Wow weird weather even down here! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Sayman" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, January 18, 2009 3:15:25 PM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: Re: [PD-LIFE] Cheese Soup & Genomes All this talk about cheese soup makes me hungry for what my ex used to call red bunny......tomato soup with chunks of cheddar cheese dropped into it a couple of minutes before it is served. YUM! Darn it.... now I'm drooling. Genome testing..... Joan, how is it done; where is it done; who does it? Did you have it ordered by your doctor, or did you just have it done? And if you don't mind my asking, can you give me a ball-park figure on cost?
