    1. [PD-LIFE] Mackerel and Milk Gravy Recipe...
    2. ok y'all, here it is~i find it positively revolting, but my folks love it.... tip~when my dad gets a hankering for this, he usually suggests baked taters for supper the night before and asks mama to bake up some extra taters~they're easier to use... Mackerel and Milk Gravy you'll need: butter fresh garlic~finely chopped~optional onion~diced (figure 1 onion for every 3 taters) potatoes~diced (1 medium tater per person) canned mackerel (1 can for every 2 people) half n half pepper flour or cornstarch to thicken bread or biscuits (whichever is preferred) fry up your garlic, onions and potatoes in butter till taters are browned and tender...then remove from pan, set aside and cover next, fry up the mackerel in butter just until hot all the way through...remove from pan, leaving the drippings in the pan...set aside and cover add half n half to pan, pepper to taste, add thickening agent and heat~stirring frequently~till gravy thickens spoon taters onto plate, place bread or break up biscuits beside taters, set mackerel on top of bread/biscuits, then ladle gravy over mackerel (and the taters, too, if you want) -- ...frame every so-called disaster with these words~in 5 years will this matter?
