    3. Thanks, Judy and all. I was thinking of this years ago, but never thought it would fly in this area. So, if Judy and the rest of you, haven't had a problem with taking bags into the stores, then I will try it. Especially since Connie and Bill don't have a problem, and they are basically in this area, and shop at some of the same places we do. One of these days, Connie, I will bump into you at Wal-mart, or Eastern Market. When I do, we'll look at one another and figure out how many times we passed each other over the years of shopping in the York area :o) LOL!!!!! Wouldn't that be a hoot!!! Well, now the question is, where does one get material that doesn't stink of the air in the stores, and really smells like fabric, instead of people's perfumes? Maybe we'll take a closer look at some fabric shoppes, again, to see if anything changed with the way they smell. Connie, have you been in any of the fabric stores lately, in York? Wish our Columbia Garment Factory was still here! I could go into that store, and get whatever material, laces, threads, ribbons, you name it, they had it_Velcro, etc._I wanted and not have to worry about the smells, because the store didn't smell. I should be able to make 20 or 30 bags in no time at all, since I made my 28 girls in band front their poodle skirts, scarves and hair scrunchies in just two weeks, back in 1997-98 season_shouldn't be a problem at all!!! While I'm at it, I might as well make Lindsey's bunny, Boomer, some blankets from the old material I've been saving in the middle room upstairs. That would get rid of a few more boxes in that room. And make Lexus her bed covers, and comforters. Yes, I think I'll just get started on that stuff, until we get out to get some cotton material for bags. Just plain old cotton fabric. No fancy edging and such? Sounds like a done deal here. Though, I better find something to protect my kitchen table better, since the last time I worked with my roller cutter, I shreaded the table cloth :o) LOL!!!!!!! I was so angry with myself, I was spittin' fire, because it was a brand new table cloth, and I really liked it. It was a huge joke around here for over a year. The joke has subsided, until I decide to get a new table cloth, and someone comments on it_then the subject of that shredding comes up again, creating much laughter. Well, have to get the bulletin done for church, so Mike can take it to choir tonight, for someone to photocopy it onto the actual bulletins. Talk to ya later. Yes, I agree with Mary and Sue, and all the others who might have emailed you privately. You have to sit down with Bryan and gently tell him what is going on. It is best that way, than hiding it_thus when I said what I said before, and put that But, hmmmmmm with it. Mary wrote out the hmmmm. You must be honest_you are probably the only one he can trust, now, in his life. God speed, and God bless. Hugs! Lynn PS Going to the kitchen to make some whole wheat wraps in my new FlavorWave! Will let you know how I like it. Judy wrote about making her own shopping bags, and not having a problem with the stores.

    1. [PD-LIFE] rotary cutter
    2. Judy
    3. Lynn, Do you have a cutting mat? They come in large sizes, and you use them under your fabric for use with a rotary cutter. If you get one at JoAnn, wait until you have a 40% coupon. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynn Vondran" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2009 9:35 AM Subject: [PD-LIFE] Thanks/Cotton Bags/Spittin' fire :o) > Thanks, Judy and all. > I was thinking of this years ago, but never thought it would fly in this > area. 3. Hi Judy, I surely do have a mat. Wouldn't try to cut right on my kitchen table. That's what made it so hilarious! Everytime someone sat at that end of the table, they would ask, "Hey, what happened here?" I had it taped, on the other side, to try to keep it for a little while, since it was brand new, when I practically shredded it. What happened was, I was cutting through sweatshirt material, and had it too thick. I didn't know I cut right through to the table, because I didn't know I was off the edge of the cutting mat. My in-laws had bought me the rotary cutter, and mat, for Christmas, but I knew it was way too small of a mat for what I had to do. I now have a much larger cutting mat. But, since we bought it, I haven't had the time to go through more material to make quilt squares, or cut what I have for other projects. We bought mine at Wal-mart. My mother-in-law gave me her very, very large corrugated cardboard cutting mat, but it smelled so much from the products they used in their apartment, that I had to keep it in the hallway to air out. I put it out there over a year ago, and still can't bring it into the area of the house where I spend 99% of my time. Guess it's a lost cause to try to air it out. I have it hiding a place where the plumbers had to cut through to get to the plumbing a few years ago. We never fixed the area, because eventually we are going to have to have the old sewage pipe replaced. At that time, we are going to construct a door, so that the plumbing in that area isn't so hard to work on. I actually had to air out my cutting mat that we bought at Wal-mart. Can't win :o) :o) Lynn Judy wrote: > Lynn, > > Do you have a cutting mat? They come in large sizes, and you use them > under > your fabric for use with a rotary cutter.
