    1. Re: [PD-LIFE] Weather-slipping on ice
    2. After my Aunt died, I found elastic bands with spikes on them for walking on ice.?They slipped onto whatever foot wear you had on.? I know they came from the 50's, at least.? Need to get them out and use them.? Hope I can remember where I stashed them.?Connie, near Lynn in icy PA. Subject: Re: [PD-LIFE] Weather-slipping on ice The local sporting goods stores and outdoors stores - Eastern Mountain Sports and Dick's Sporting Goods sell a contraption called YaxTrax. They are great for walking on ice and packed snow. They are made of criss crossed rubber strips with wire coils over them. They fit on the bottom of shoes or boots. Fortunately the doctor said I had an abrasion over my left eyebrow and didn't need stitches. I did have a mean looking black eye for two weeks. **************Inauguration '09: Get complete coverage from the nation's capital.(http://www.aol.com?ncid=emlcntaolcom00000027) ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Yes, near Lynn, and Lynn waiting on a visit from Connie and Bill some day, who live somewhat near Lynn :o) LOL!!!!!!!! Hey, stay warm!!! What's the temp like across the river? I think my garden thermometer froze. It is reading 60 degrees right now and we KNOW it isn't 60 outside. Wonder if my kitchen window one is off, too? I'm going to go out with Lexus, now, and freeze!!!!! The little birds are hiding, cuddled behind the small brick wall I have around where I feed them. Guess it blocks the cold wind. None of them are taking a bath today!!!! But, they certainly are thirsty! I would be too if I were out in the dry air all winter. :o) Lynn Connie wrote :o) Connie, near Lynn in icy PA.
