Those names don't sound familiar to me, but if you can give me a time frame I'll look through my information and see if they're in there.? From what I've been able to figure out, my Rummels came first to York County, then to Adams County, to Indiana County, and finally here to Cambria.? They're one of only a few of my lines that did not make a significant stop in Bedford County or Somerset County (the Orners being another!) before coming here. --Debra -----Original Message----- From: P Dyer <pdyer53@yahoo.com> To: padutch-life@rootsweb.com Sent: Sun, 12 Aug 2007 8:40 am Subject: Re: [PD-LIFE] Lower Yoder Twp Is Eve Rummell m. Hi Cathy-- Yes, I have a listing of every chamber of commerce in the world at my office.? Bovard doesn't ring any bells, though, and I can't find it on a map.? Do you know what county it's in?? Not every town has it's own chamber--a lot of the smaller towns especially are just part of a county chamber. --Debra -----Original Message----- From: Cathy Raber <pigeonrock@earthlink.net> To: padutch-life@rootsweb.com Sent: Sun, 12 Aug 2007 12:28 am Subject: Re: [PD-LIFE] Lower Yoder Twp:Debra? Yes cleaning then is a pain but its worth it.. BUT I'm getting to old to do it now.. When we moved to MO I showed a friend how to clean a Turtle she then floured it and fried it.. It was okay but the soup was better.. I also showed her how to clean Deer meat once the guys skinned it, NOW she is an expert!! :) My family men are great at hunting and fishing..they bow hunt, and gun hunt and they fish a lot so we always have lots of deer to share with our neighbors.. Lynn You sound a lot like me.. I taught my son to cook and while we were visiting a few weeks ago for a BBQ he was helping me.. I told him to mix the seasonings he said "about that much" holding some seasoning in his hand and I said yes. His wife then said "So that's where he gets not measuring things" I hardly ever measure things I just know how much to use.. I do however measure out what I put into a recipe if I give the recipe out :) I was taught to make home made bread using a x large pan when I was 8 years old Mom never measured anything either . Everything turns out great you know from the feel of it when you have enough four making bread.. :) Barb ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynn Vondran" <lynnvondran@att.net> To: <padutch-life@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 11, 2007 8:25 PM Subject: Re: [PD-LIFE] Hot Pepper Jam and Cream Cheese > Hi Barb! > They are all the recipes I make up at the spur of the moment, and some, if > you don't eat them fast enough, harden. Hi Cathy, So sorry for the loss of your best friend, and to have it happen while you were away, had to be extremely hard. Our prayers go out to you, and your family, as you make adjustments in life to fill the void that is left behind.May good memories of our loved ones live on, always, in our hearts, as we move onward in life_though there is nothing that can replace the presence of them. In regard to the accident. The Sunday paper still has 1 dead, and 3 critically injured. One of those critically injured did go through brain surgery yesterday, as neighbors had told me. They still have not released the names of any of the young ladies, but said they were all 22 years old. They were all strewn about the inside of the vehicle, and the paper said from that, it appears to be that NONE of them were wearing their seatbelts. So close to home for them all, too; more than likely they were each just blocks away from home, because Columbia isn't that big. Lynn
Is Eve Rummell m. Adam Miller in your Rummell line or Hannah Oaks m. John Rummell? If so we may be related. Debra, Do you know the Chambers of Commerce of Bovard, PA, since you have connections. I have some possible connections there, but don't know where its at? Anything would be good, or if you know of a genealogy society there. Awwwwww :o( I have a picture of a snapping turtle that Mom said was the one they had for supper at camp one year, when she was younger. Mom didn't eat that meal :o) I'm sure I wouldn't have either, because I would have made an instant pet of it, just like Mom. :o) Lynn Barb wrote: Its been a long time since I cleaned a snapping turtle and cooked one..(I was a cook in a restaurant) I was more worried about the neighbor kids getting bit so I didn't tell them it was there them later when I went to take a picture of it it was gone.. a few days later I saw a smashed one on the hwy about the same size and I 'm thinking he didn't make it across the road.. Thanks. Mary. It's funny, my girlfriends ex husband 's new, wife is Mary also. I greatly appreciate your comments. It'll get better, as time goes on, but will miss all the times we shared with her big sharing heart! I know how very difficult that is, especially when it isn't expected--when there is no prescience. It is like losing a sister; and there is just nothing that can fill that space. I still grieve for the loss of my best friend. It takes a while for the 'edge' to wear off so you can move forward. Barb, I certainly will say a prayer for Lou Lou. I am hopeful that with her loving family around her for support, the advancements the medical field has made in treating certain cancers, and her keeping a good attitude will get her quickly on the road to recovery and remission. Hugs to both of you. I still am alittle in shock still, but again we all know she's in a non-suffering place, & that comforts me too! She was having kidney dialysis, & had a heart attack! She had just gotten the papers for the little girl she was adopting. She was only 60. And my kids are going to miss our lunches/dinners we used to go to with her.
