Hi Richard, Yes, it came through and I got it when it came through. Did that question I asked come through the list a second time? Weird, cause I didn't get it if it did. I already have the whole thing explained, using you and Tracy as the information source, in my family history under both my Uncle Milt and my father-in-law. Thanks again to both of you!!!! AND!!! Thank you KATHY, for all the research you've been doing regarding breads made without yeast!!!!! I'm interested in the self-rising bread flour one they had at quick glance. I think quick breads are cake-like, if I'm not mistaken, like Zucchini and the like. But those self-rising flour ones interest me, because I've never used that for bread making. I did buy some, and accidentally used it in my pizza dough, which I already use yeast in, and it made the dough too thick. So, maybe that is the secret I am looking for, though Mayer's and ATV both use yeast? We'll see what I find. Thanks so much for doing this research for me :o) Yes, we are all friends on this list, aren't we!!! :o) Lynn ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard Emlin Reed To: padutch-life@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, August 20, 2007 10:17 PM Subject: Re: [PD-LIFE] Backs :o) Read your mail, Lynn Vondran. The current may be delivered intermittently. The mild electrical current generates heat that serves to relieve stiffness, improve mobility, and relieve pain. The treatment is believed to stimulate the body's production of endorphins or natural pain killers. The Physical Therapist applies electrode patches to the skin in the area to be treated. The mild current runs from the stationary stimulator through these patches. TENS is also used to deliver topical steroid medication through the skin to treat acute episodes of pain. This treatment is called Iontophoresis. The mild current causes the medication to migrate into soft tissue serving to reduce inflammation. The portable stimulator is a small battery-operated device that can be worn around the waist. The unit can be turned on or off as needed for pain control. Although these units can be purchased or rented, a prescription from a physician is required. The Physical Therapist is often the person to teach the patient how to use the device including proper placement of the electrodes for optimal benefits. To ensure the patient will benefit from TENS, the portable device is used on a trial basis before the patient takes it home for long-term use. Now, Lynn, as we used to say in the old days, you stop putting quotation marks around the word amn't when you use it in a sentence. Well, having lived with it for years, Betty and I are acutely aware of the agony that comes with a sore back. In German, it is called "Rückenschmerzen". We called it "rickshmatza" (back pain) or "rickdroovvel (back trouble). Begins with an "S" could be stenosis. From Wikipedia: Spinal stenosis is a medical condition in which the spinal canal narrows and compresses the spinal cord and nerves. This is usually due to the natural process of spinal degeneration that occurs with aging. It can also sometimes be caused by spinal disc herniation, osteoporosis, or a tumour. Spinal stenosis may affect the cervical spine, the lumbar spine or both. Lumbar spinal stenosis results in low back pain as well as pain or abnormal sensations in the legs. Have fun. Hi Richard Emlin Reed!!!! :o) I'm here, just was busy getting the meal all together to take to my inlaws' for my mother-in-law's birthday celebration yesterday. They couldn't come down because of my father-in-law's back, so it took a lot more planning to keep everything hot for the trip to Ephrata, but it was an enjoyable day, and the meal came out GREAT, for everyone, including my father-in-law who doesn't eat what we had for the main meal, spaghetti, so I made him something different as for the meat portion, and then he just filled in with the spaghetti noodles (without the sauce), and string beans. The cake I made didn't turn out the way it did when I was in my teens, but everyone really liked it, so I have another recipe to add to the manual. Well, it's not a new recipe, just the directions are different. Glad you tested the list, because I didn't have time to go wherever it is we are to go to to see if the list is down.
