That's funny! My BIL has one for chronic leg and back pain as the result of an automobile injury 20 years ago. My sister uses one for chronic hip pain. Thanks, again, Joan. I'll have to read up on it, now that I have the spelling and even a site to go to :o) Lynn Joan wrote: http://www.neuropathy.org/site/PageServer Other causes can be infection, cancer, immune system disorders, injury. The above website provides quite a few answers.

Oh Rick!!! You are having a parellel universe day :O) LOL!!! No, we are all getting the messages multiple times. You'll find out as soon as you read Joan's explanation of what happened today at Rootweb. :o) Lynn Rick wrote: Hey Joan! Didn't you just send this once to the list? Peripheral Neuropathy!!! Can that be what my Uncle Milt has in his feet? I know he said it's Neuropathy something or other, and he attaches a machine to it up to 3 times a day, for 20 minutes, but isn't suppose to use it more than that. He gets terrible spasms, and pain in his feet, that on top of the Stenosis, I guess he gets his jolts pretty much from this TENS. I imagine it's better than being on Morphine patches every 72 hours, huh !!! So, can you get Peripheral Neuropathy in the feet, also? Thanks again Tracy. :o) Lynn Tracy wrote: My brother uses one for peripheral neuropathy pain in his hands.

Thanks, Joan :o) I thought maybe it was me, until I saw Tracy's post :o) Lynn Joan wrote: RootsWeb's mailhub has been having intermittent difficulties over the past 24 hours or so. Drenching right now :o) It was so easy to pull some of the weeds this morning. I was going to wait because of being afraid of pulling a LUCY with the wet grass, but I kept thinking about those weeds, which have grown like weeds with all this rain, and I didn't want them to throw their seeds all around, so I went out, and pulled them out with ease! Now to get the rest next week. Hope no one is in the area where all the flooding is. There are a few states being hit with it right now. Take care if you are. Lynn Connie wrote: HI.? I know because I used to have a neighbor who was an NBA player and he had one whenever he had a knee or other injury. --- Lynn wrote: > Okay, what is a TENS unit? ************************** Lynn, It's a Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator, and is a smallish, portable, battery-operated device that sends electrical impulses to certain parts of the body to block pain signals. The electrical currents produced are mild, but can prevent pain messages from being transmitted to the brain and may raise the level of endorphins (natural pain killers produced by the brain). You put the pads on the injured part of your body, set the current dials and wear it for 20 mins at a time. Mine has a clip so I can wear it. I just turn it on for the alloted time and then off for a while. A doctor is one who prescribes it. My brother uses one for peripheral neuropathy pain in his hands. tracy ____________________________________________________________________________________ Take the Internet to Go: Yahoo!Go puts the Internet in your pocket: mail, news, photos & more. http://mobile.yahoo.com/go?refer=1GNXIC
