(near Booth's Corner Sale) Food Bake Goods Arts & Crafts Bethel House Tour, (which is always very nice) Delaware County Genealogy Society (DCGS) Concord Twp. Historical Society Bethel Historical Society Etc. In regard to the house tour, which always includes Dr. Mead Shaffer's two houses: GARRETT Log House Home of Mead F. SHAFFER 1645 Bethel Road Bethel, PA 19061 Bef. 1686 -- Log House owned by Thomas GARRETT. 1712 -- Robert BOOTH purchased Log House & 100 acres. 1721 -- BOOTH builds a stone addition (cooking fireplace). Early in 1800s -- Log House taken down & replaced with stone addition. (This section is what you can see today, nearest to Bethel Road.) 1830s -- BOOTH Family sold Farm. 1830s to 1864 -- The farm has several owners. 1864 -- The farm was purchased by the CHEYNEY Family. They farmed it for over 100 years. 1966 -- Mead F. SHAFFER purchased the property. 1970s -- Stone barn rebuilt from ruins by the Amish, stonework by Al Marsella. 1980s -- New section added to the south of the house. Cooking fireplace & beehive oven added. 1990s -- Garages built. Shed entrance to the house. SOUTHERY Log House, c1683, Dr. Mead F. SHAFFER just had it rebuilt on his property Bethel Road, Bethel Twp.
